Confindustria Veneto Est is born
Confindustria Veneto Est - Metropolitan Area Venice Padua Rovigo Treviso, a new wide-area associative entity that integrates Assindustria Venetocentro - Entrepreneurs Padua Treviso and Confindustria Venice - Metropolitan Area of Venice and Rovigo, was born. On November 28 at the Padua Fair Congress Center came the unanimous vote by the two assemblies, which gave the go-ahead to a reality that has 5,000 member companies with 270,000 employees and becomes in size and ranking significance the second largest territorial association in the Confindustria system.
The new association, of which ITLAS is a member, operates in a key territory of Italy's business culture and economy: two million 900 thousand inhabitants, an aggregate GDP of 96 billion euros, 325 thousand local units (equal to 5.1 percent of the national total) with more than 1.2 million employees, 400 thousand of whom are in industry, and an unemployment rate at 5.7 percent (the national rate is 9.5 percent). This is where 55 percent of Veneto's manufacturing value added and 6.8 percent of the national value added is concentrated (27 billion in 2021). The value of exports from the vast area last year was 46.2% of regional exports and 6.3% of national exports. The active trade contribution is 7 billion, corresponding to 40.7 percent of the entire Veneto region.
An operation, the one completed by the two presidents Leopoldo Destro and Vincenzo Marinese, that gives concrete implementation to a modern vision of metropolitan development and creates, together with Milan and Bologna, a new industrial triangle in the heart of Europe. Governance and organizational structure of Confindustria Veneto Est will be effective and fully operational as of next January 1 and will have Leopoldo Destro at its head until the 2024 assembly.
